Katsue Kurimoto [Japanese: 栗本カツヱ] was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

BIOGRAPHY

Kurimoto was born in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, on 20 March 1907.

She was blessed with nine children. Kurimoto lived in Tokushima until she was 90, and after her husband’s death, she moved to her second son’s house in Gose, Nara Prefecture.

After her daughter-in-law passed away when she was 110, she entered a nursing home. At the age of 110, she was able to take care of herself, including toileting, bathing, and eating, and was able to walk.

Following the death of Kura Bingo on 31 October 2019, she became the oldest living person in Nara Prefecture.

Her age was verified by Japan’s MHLW, Yumi Yamamoto, Fabrizio Villatoro and Yu Li, and validated by the GRG on 25 October 2020.

Kurimoto fell in October 2020 and was hospitalized. Kurimoto died in Gose, Nara Prefecture, Japan on 22 November 2020 at the age of 113 years, 247 days.
