BIOGRAPHY

Kirkland was born in Alabama on 30 November 1912.

Kirkland died in Montgomery, Alabama, on 18 June 2024 at the age of 111 years, 201 days. She was survived by a nephew and two nieces.

RECOGNITION

Following the death of 110-year-old Willie McGhee on 12 January 2022, Kirkland became Alabama’s oldest known resident. Upon her own death, the title may have passed to Emma Robinson, 110.
