Kameno Katō (Japanese: 嘉藤カメノ) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest. At the time of death, she was the oldest living person in Shimane Prefecture.

BIOGRAPHY

Kameno Katō was born in Japan on 20 February 1906.

Kameno Katō passed away in Hikawa District, Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, Japan, on 21 July 2017, at the age of 111.

RECOGNITION

In September 2005, at the age of 99, she received congratulations from the town of Hikawa as one of the few residents who are about to turn 100 years old. She was featured in the Hikawa town public relations paper.

On 28 February 2017, following the death of Yoshiko Araki, she became the oldest living person in Shimane Prefecture.
