Jūzō Kōno (河野重三) was born on 31 March 1916 in Japan.

At 110 years old, he continues to enjoy a range of hobbies, including coloring, composing senryu, and watching sumo and baseball. At the time, he said that the key to staying healthy is to eat well and sleep well.

He currently lives in Yawatahama City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan.
