Juliette Trimaille was born in Besançon in the department of Doubs in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, on 21 August 1903. For most of her life, she lived in the Saint-Jean district of Besançon, where she worked as a seamstress. She never married and had no children, spending much of her later life in Castan Square in Besançon.
At the age of 100, she moved into a retirement home in Besançon. Even at 109, though her hearing had faded, her mind remained remarkably sharp. She continued to pursue one of her great passions—politics—faithfully following the debates of the National Assembly on television each week.
Juliette Trimaille passed away in Besançon, on 17 April 2015, at the age of 111 years, 239 days.
Trimaille’s age was verified by Cyril Depoudent of Les Grands Centenaires Français, and was validated by the ESO on 24 March 2020.
