Juliana Teodora Artola Ondarra was a Spanish supercentenarian who was the oldest known living person in Spain at the time of her death. Her age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
BIOGRAPHY
Juliana Teodora Artola Ondarra was born on 22 April 1911 in Astigarraga, Gipuzkoa, Basque Country, Spain to an Argentine immigrant father and a Spanish mother.
She married José Martín Unzurrunzaga Urquía on 22 April 1938 but never had children. Artola Ondarra dedicated much of her life to caring for her family, especially her parents and, later, her siblings. Artola worked for decades in a local bakery and was well-known in her community for her kind nature.
She maintained a high degree of independence and lived in her own home until she was 105, when she moved to a local nursing home. She passed away on 28 January 2025 in San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa, Basque Country, Spain, at the age of 113 years, 281 days.
