Sambin was born in Le Moule, Guadeloupe, France, on 17 February 1911. At some point, she got married and had nine children.
Throughout her life, Sambin was active in her community. Professionally, she worked as a farmer and merchant in Pointe-à-Pitre, but her primary focus was on her family.
On her 100th birthday in 2011, she credited work as the secret to her longevity. Her 110th birthday was celebrated with her family and the parish priest. Her son, who traveled from outside Guadeloupe, joined the festivities. Even at that age, she remained lucid. She was affectionately known as “Man Néa.”
Sambin passed away in Le Moule, Guadeloupe, France, on 16 September 2022 at the age of 111 years, 211 days. She was survived by four of her children: Jeanne, Nicomène, Léna and Jocelyn, as well as one brother, Servais Sambin.
On 29 June 2022, following the passing of 113-year-old Irena Martial, she became the oldest living person in Guadeloupe. Upon her own passing on 16 September, she was succeeded by Émilienne Bécarmin.
Her age has not been validated.
