Josephine “Jody” Jones (née Wilson) was an American supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Jones was born in Amherst, Virginia, USA, on 27 May 1911. She was the daughter of John P. Wilson and Mary West. She had seven sisters: Effie Douglas, Hortense Wilson, Maggie Wilson, Sadie Payne, Mary Pannell, Pauline Jenkins and Martha Kyle; and three brothers: Vatel Wilson, Preston Wilson and Benjamin Wilson. In March 1938, she married Willie Cyrus Jones, and together they had two children: Mary J. McCoy and Cyrus W. Jones.

Known for her deep faith and kind spirit, she spent her last decade at Fairmont Crossing nursing home in Amherst.

Jones passed away in Amherst, Virginia, USA, on 24 February 2023, at the age of 111 years, 273 days. She was survived by her two children, nine grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
