Josefina Quirós Soto was a Costa Rican supercentenarian who was the oldest (known) living person in Costa Rica at the time of her death. Her age is validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Josefina Quirós Soto was born in Grecia, Alajuela, Costa Rica, on 12 April 1905, to parents Amadeo Quirós Fonseca and Belarmina Soto Quirós. In 1928, she married Fernando Vega Kopper, with whom she had four children (two sons and two daughters). She was a distant relative of Costa Rica’s oldest person ever, and the former first lady, Marita Camacho Quirós.

Josefina Quirós Soto passed away in Liberia, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, on 7 October 2015, at the age of 110 years, 178 days.

RECOGNITION

No known public reports from her later years are known, although several posts about her from friends and family exist on social media.
