Reboul was born in Levier, Doubs, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France, on 11 May 1911. Throughout her life, she went by her middle name, Jeanne. She grew up near the commune of Gap, in the Hautes-Alpes department. She intended to become a nun, but instead achieved a teaching degree at the start of World War II. She taught in several small villages in the area.
Reboul never married and had no biological children, but she did adopt a baby boy named Michel – whom she renamed Jean-Marie – in 1948, against her father’s wishes. Despite choosing not to become a nun, she remained a devout Christian throughout her life. She moved to Agde, in the Hérault department of present-day Occitanie, shortly prior to her retirement.
At the time of her 104th birthday, Reboul was reported as the oldest resident of her nursing home. She celebrated with her son and daughter-in-law. Her 105th birthday celebration was postponed nine days as her son was not able to attend on the day. At the age of 108, she was described as talkative, and also made a habit of praying daily.
Reboul died on 24 August 2022 at the age of 111 years, 105 days.
Reboul’s age was verified by Cyril Depoudent of Les Grands Centenaires Français, and was validated by the ESO on 12 January 2022.
Following the death of Jeanne Chabbert on 12 February 2022, Reboul became the region of Occitanie’s oldest resident. Upon her own death, the title passed to Paulette Magné-Ducamin (1912 – 2024), then aged 110.
