Jeanne Lara (née Juana Marcos Pujalte) was a Spanish-born French supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Jeanne Lara was born in Villena, Valencian Community, Spain, on 1 April 1906. At some point, she relocated to French Algeria, where she married in 1929 and had at least one son. In 1962, she moved to mainland France.

Jeanne Lara passed away in Perpignan in the Pyrénées-Orientales department, Occitanie, France, on 16 October 2019, at the age of 113 years, 198 days.

RECOGNITION

At the time of her passing, she was the third-oldest living person in France, behind Lucile Randon and Jeanne Bot.

Lara’s age was validated by the ESO on 23 July 2023.
