Ivy Cook was born in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, on 8 December 1906. In her younger years, she worked as a secretary. She later married Harold, who was a few years younger than her. Harold, originally from Surrey, would often ride his motorbike to visit her. He was 88 when he passed away. She also authored a book about her life, titled Ivy’s Story.

Ivy Cook passed away in Sible Hedingham, Essex, England, on 7 December 2017, one day shy of her 111th birthday.
