Isaura Martín-Granizo Casado is a Spanish supercentenarian.
Isaura Martín-Granizo Casado was born in Spain, on 7 February 1916.
During her professional career, she taught music to several generations of students at the León Conservatory of Music and at Juan del Enzina High School. She traveled throughout Europe, performing in concerts with her students, and kept a collection of classical music records at home at a time when such recordings were difficult to obtain. A deeply religious woman and a co-founder of the NGO Manos Unidas in León, she always sought the company of younger friends in order to maintain a youthful spirit.
She never married and had no children, but she was surrounded by many nephews and nieces.
On her 110th birthday, continuing a long-standing tradition, she received a visit from “the choir girls,” a group of former students now in their 70s and 80s, who came to present her with a traditional Leonese birthday gift. She encouraged young people who love classical music to be consistent and hardworking and, above all, to choose their instrument carefully, as their success as musicians would largely depend on it.
Her age has not been validated.
