BIOGRAPHY

Isabel Vicente Hernández was born in Cabeza del Caballo, Castile and León, Spain, on 5 November 1913. As the daughter of a farmer, she had helped her family work in the fields and remained very active throughout her life. She married Leoncio, and the couple had five children. By the age of 110, her family had grown to include 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Even at 90, she continued tending to her vegetable garden and the geraniums that brightened her balconies. At 109, it was noted that, despite occasional memory lapses, she enjoyed remarkably good health. At the time, she enjoyed playing bingo as a favorite pastime. Her family recalled that she always had a wonderful sense of humor.

Vicente Hernández died in Mozárbez, Castile and León, Spain on 12 August 2024, at the age of 110 years, 281 days.
