BIOGRAPHY
Reid was born in New South Wales, Australia, on 17 December 1910.
Reid passed away following a stroke at the Regis Rose Bay care home in Rose Bay, New South Wales, Australia, on the morning of 13 May 2022, at the age of 111 years, 147 days. She was survived by her only son, Colin Reid.
RECOGNITION
On 20 July 2021, following the passing of 111-year-old Dexter Kruger, she became the oldest living Australian-born person in the world, at the age of 110 years, 215 days. She also became the nation’s second-oldest living person, after Ivy Tate.
On 6 December 2021, following the passing of 111-year-old Ivy Tate, she became the oldest living person in Australia, at the age of 110 years, 354 days. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Gwen Moore.
