Huguette Masson (née Bouteloup) was a French supercentenarian. Her age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).

BIOGRAPHY

Huguette Masson was born in Le Mans in the Sarthe department, Pays de la Loire, France, on 27 June 1904. She was the only daughter of a butcher who owned a shop next to the Viaduct. Following the death of her parents, she began working at the age of 15. In 1927, she married Roger, a plasterer, and throughout their life together she supported him by managing his accounts.

The couple had two sons: Yves, born in 1929, and Joël, born in 1934. Since 2009, Huguette Masson had been a resident of the Jean-Jaurès Nursing Home (EHPAD) in Le Mans.

Huguette Masson passed away in Le Mans, on 5 March 2018, at the age of 113 years, 251 days.

RECOGNITION

At the time of her death, she was the third-oldest living person in France, behind Lucile Randon and Gabrielle des Robert.

Masson’s age was verified by Cyril Depoudent (Les Grands Centenaires Français), and was validated by the GRG and the ESO on 27 January 2020.
