Hisako Sakai [Japanese: 酒井ヒサコ] was a Japanese supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Ehime Prefecture at the time of her death.
Hisako Sakai (酒井ヒサコ) was born in Japan on October 9, 1896.
Shortly after the end of World War II, she was diagnosed with skin cancer but made a full recovery. She remained in good health afterward, reportedly not even catching a cold by the time she turned 100. Her daily routine included drinking a bottle of milk every morning and doing calisthenics three times a day without fail.
On February 25, 2007, following the death of Matsuyo Ōuchi of Imabari City at the age of 110 years and 267 days, Sakai became the oldest living person in Ehime Prefecture.
Sakai passed away in Ōzu City, Ehime Prefecture, on June 22, 2007, at the age of 110 years and 256 days.
Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 16 August 2007 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
