Hide Kittaka (Japanese: 橘髙 (きったか) ヒデ) was a Japanese supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Hide Kittaka was born in Japan on 8 March 1907.

Hide Kittaka was last confirmed alive on 1 February 2019, at the age of 111. She was a resident of Shūnan, Yamaguchi Prefecture.

RECOGNITION

In September 2018, Yamaguchi Prefecture announced her as the Prefecture’s oldest living resident, at the age of 110. It’s possible she assumed the title following the passing of Umeyo Konishi in 2017. In September of the previous year, Yamaguchi Prefecture reported that its oldest resident was a 110-year-old woman from Shūnan; however, it is unclear whether this was Hide Kittaka or someone else.

Although Kittaka’s passing was not publicly reported, Shigeko Nagatomi may have subsequently succeeded her as the prefecture’s oldest resident.

Her age was verified by the MHLW, Japan, as well as Yu Li, and validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) on 13 June 2019. The validation was later recognized by LongeviQuest.
