BIOGRAPHY

Hansen was born in Pomerania, on 15 October 1910. She spent the most of her life in Hagen. At some point, she got married in Hagen and had a son. The family later lived near Bremen. Her only son passed away in 2011.

Until she was 100 years old, she lived alone in her house and managed nearly all of her own care. At 106, she was residing in a nursing home, where she maintained a degree of independence. That year, she was provided with a walker, as the nursing staff deemed walking without support too risky. Shortly before that, she had been doing seated exercises, but she had to stop due to consistently high blood pressure at the age of 106.
