Hazel Favell is an Australian supercentenarian.
BIOGRAPHY
Hazel Favell was born in Bronte, New South Wales, Australia, on 3 June 1916, as one of the four daughters. Hazel attended Waverley Primary School and Sydney Girls’ High School before completing a course at a business college. She subsequently specialised in legal administration, working in law offices for many years.
In 1941, Hazel married Mick Favell. The couple built their first home in Arncliffe before later relocating to Beverly Hills. Hazel continued working until the birth of their first child, a daughter, in 1950, followed by the arrival of a second daughter. Both daughters went on to become school teachers. After her daughters reached high school age, Hazel returned to work in law offices. In 1996, following the death of her husband, she moved to the Sutherland Shire, where she made her home.
Hazel’s younger sister, Millicent Elise (“Midge”) Oliver, passed away on 16 May 2026 at the age of 104.
