BIOGRAPHY

Spivey was born in La Vernia, Texas, USA, on 10 November 1910, to parents Tilmon Tennessee New (1879–1960) and Lizzie Houston (1879–1957). She had three siblings: Gail Hampton New (1906–1994), Kathryn Schnitz (1913–1988), and Harriet Edith New (1917–2002).

In 1928, she married Thomas Troy Spivey (1901–1973). The couple had a daughter, Adele Goeth (1929–2003).

Spivey passed away in La Vernia, Texas, USA, on 18 August 2021, at the age of 110 years, 281 days. She was survived by three grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren, and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
