María Catalina Guadalupe Coronel Rivero is a Mexican supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
BIOGRAPHY
María Catalina Guadalupe Coronel Rivero was born on 13 February 1915 in Mexico City, Mexico, as the daughter of Francisco Fausto Coronel Flores (1894–1977) and María de los Ángeles Rivero Acuña (1892–1942).
She completed until the third grade of school by her father’s decision. In 1927, she received her First Communion at a local church. In her working life, Coronel Rivero established herself as a merchant specializing in women’s apparel, making her to travel to the United States for the procurement of merchandise frequently. During her youth, she was known for her active lifestyle and a particular affinity for dance and swimming.
On 30 August 1933, she began her life with Gabriel Martínez Magro (1904–1995), with whom she had six children: Gabriel (b. 1935), Julieta (1936–2024), Alberto (1941–2001), Jerónimo (b. 1945), María Guadalupe (b. 1951), and Andrés (b. 1958).
In the 1980s, she moved to Guadalajara, Jalisco, where she got an apartment and cultivated a new circle of friendships. At the age of 100, she successfully recovered from a fall, and she later faced the global COVID-19 pandemic with stability, benefiting from attentive care and maintaining her health without major incident.
At the time of her 111th birthday, she was reported to be in excellent condition. She celebrated the occasion by dancing, walking, and engaging in lively conversation throughout the party.
