BIOGRAPHY
Grace Jeffery was born in Colchester, Essex, England, UK, on 4 May 1877 (claimed 22 April 1878).
For the majority of her adult life, Grace was a deeply rooted member of her community, residing in Leatherhead for more than 50 years. In her late 90s, she relocated to Keswick, a home for the elderly in Bookham, where she spent the final decade of her life.
Jeffery passed away on 8 July 1987 in Great Bookham, Surrey, England, UK, at the age of 110 years, 65 days. At the time of her passing, according to the care staff, she had not been suffering from any illness, but was simply “old and tired”. On her final morning, she spent time chatting normally with the staff before quietly slipping into sleep.
RECOGNITION
Her age was verified through a collaboration between Eli Logan from LongeviQuest and Dr. Andrew Holmes from the European Supercentenarian Organisation, and validated by both organizations on 16 June 2026.
