Marceline “Germaine” Ariane Jacmel (née Favières) was a French supercentenarian from the overseas department of Guadeloupe.
Germaine Jacmel was born in Gourbeyre, Guadeloupe, on 20 April 1905. Her parents were Jean Charles “Vincent” Favières (1867–1932) and Pauline Victoire Masty (born 1873). One of her sisters, Delphine Marie-Thérèse Esther “Madeleine” (1914–2017), lived to be 102. At some point, she got married.
In 2014, when she could no longer live alone in Gourbeyre, she moved to the Sacré-Cœur nursing home in Basse-Terre.
Germaine Jacmel passed away in Basse-Terre, on 5 May 2016, at the age of 111 years, 15 days.
Following the passing of Alexandre Osseux (14 February 1905 – 11 February 2014), she became the oldest known living person in Guadeloupe. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Annoncia Agathe.
Her age has not been validated.
