BIOGRAPHY
Georges Massard was born in the commune of Issy-les-Moulineaux in Île-de-France, France, on 2 November 1906. He was married but had no children.
After returning from World War II unscathed, he joined the Compagnie Générale des Eaux, where he steadily advanced to the rank of inspector. He lived independently in his small apartment in Clamart until the age of 105.
He moved into the Grandcamp-Maisy retirement home on 10 January 2012, at the age of 105.
Georges Massard passed away in Grandcamp-Maisy, Normandy, on 24 November 2016, at the age of 110 years, 22 days.
RECOGNITION
Following the passing of 109-year-old Robert Bourdon (25 March 1906 – 9 March 2016), he became the oldest living man in France, at the age of 109 years, 128 days. Upon his own passing, he was succeeded by Roger Auvin.
His age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) on 5 September 2023. This validation is yet to be recognized by LongeviQuest.
