Fulvia Canale was an Italian supercentenarian.
Fulvia Canale was born in Sarzana, Liguria, Italy, on 10 March 1904. For decades, she and her sister Anna ran the “Canale” stationery shop in Piazza Garibaldi, one of the busiest in the area. Throughout her long life, she was guided by a profound faith and a strong commitment to charity, particularly in support of the Vincentian Sisters. In recognition of her dedication, she was awarded the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice cross in 1978.
At the age of 110, it was reported that she could still read without glasses. Thanks to her friend Sonia, who had cared for her for many years, she was even able to climb a couple of flights of stairs to leave the house and attend early morning Mass. On her 110th birthday, the Mayor of Sarzana, Alessio Cavarra, presented her with a bouquet of flowers.
Fulvia Canale passed away in Sarzana, on 7 October 2014, at the age of 110 years, 211 days.
Her age has not been validated.
