BIOGRAPHY

Francisca de Paula Faria Figueiredo was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 2 April 1898. She studied piano and was ranked in a music competition in Rio de Janeiro. Later, she studied in France and Switzerland. In 1919, at the age of 21, she stopped studying and married Alírio de Figueiredo. Her husband, a native of Cuiabá, resided in Rio de Janeiro where he studied law. They had at least one daughter, Lígia Faria de Figueiredo Ferreira. In 1930, the couple moved to Cuiabá, Mato Grosso. Eventually, they moved to Rosário Oeste, where her husband was appointed a judge.
