BIOGRAPHY

Pisano was born in Casali del Manco, Calabria, Italy on 2 April 1910. She was the youngest of nine children born to Dominick and Marie Stella Marrone. Aged three, she emigrated with her family to the United States, settling in Philadelphia.

In her adult life, Pisano worked as a seamstress, and married Joseph A. Pisano in 1935. The couple had three children: Angelo, Marie, and John. Her daughter and her eldest son both predeceased her.

Pisano moved to Marlton, New Jersey in 1997. The following year, she was widowed after 63 years of marriage.

In March 2007, Pisano relocated to St. Augustine, Florida to be close to her elder son. On her 107th birthday, her granddaughter claimed that her secret to longevity was “good, clean living, her late husband, family, and God.”

Pisano died on 18 February 2022 at the age of 111 years, 322 days. She was survived by her younger son John, as well as seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
