Illinois Woman Elsie Sprous Celebrates Her 110th Birthday
Nébolle was born in Le Marin, Martinique, on 17 May 1855 as the daughter of Rosa Nébolle (1830 – 1905). She had at least six siblings. In 1875 and 1879, her two daughters, Louise and Marie, were born.
Nébolle died in Martinique on 10 December 1965 at the age of 110 years, 207 days.
Following the death of Félicie Carrier, 107, on 8 March 1963, Nébolle, then aged 107, became France’s oldest resident. Upon her own death over three years later, the title passed to Georgette Jeanmaire (1857 – 1968).
Nébolle may have been the world’s oldest woman from the death of Elizabeth Kensley on 6 March 1965, with Narcissa Rickman (1855 – 1968) succeeding her after her death.
