Eva Lillian Patterson (née Hudson; formerly Webster) was an American supercentenarian.
Eva Patterson was born in Cairo, Georgia, USA, on 28 November 1902, to parents Charles Lee “Charlie” Hudson (1861–1929) and Roxie Ann Dawkins (1868–1958). She had five brothers (Sam, Loyd, Claude Lee, Clarence, and Willie Guy) and two sisters (Ethel Hudson and Ruby Waters).
She graduated from Ozell High School, where she later returned to teach. In 1922, she married Charlie Owen Webster (1897–1966), and the couple moved to Waycross that same year. During World War II, they worked together at the Brunswick Shipyard. After the war, they relocated to Newport News, Virginia.
Following their retirement in 1962, they returned to Waycross and made their home on Roosevelt Street until her husband’s death in 1966. In 1976, she married William Marion “Pat” Patterson (1896–1996) of Newport News, Virginia. They lived in Waycross until his death in 1996, and Eva devotedly cared for him until he passed away at the age of 100.
In 1997, Eva’s health began to decline. After losing her sight and hearing and no longer being able to live alone, she moved in with her stepson, John, and his wife, Virginia. As her health continued to fail, she later became a resident of Baptist Village Retirement Communities. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a former member of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and Circle groups.
Eva Patterson passed away in Waycross, Georgia, on 4 May 2014, at the age of 111 years, 157 days.
On 24 June 2013, following the passing of 110-year-old Corine Walter, she became the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Georgia. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Mary Otway.
Her age has not been validated.
