BIOGRAPHY

Eva Hoover was born in Miami County, Ohio, United States, on 3 May 1908, as one of six children born to parents Albert and Martha Dohner. On 21 March 1933, at the age of 24, she married Samuel G. Hoover in Pleasant Hill, Ohio, and the couple would go on to have four children together (all of whom would outlive them). The pair would remain together for 71 years until Samuel’s death in 2004 at the age of 98.

Hoover worked for much of her career as a cook for Concord Schools, where she was employed for 19 years until her retirement in 1964. A dedicated member of the Brethren in Christ Church of Pleasant Hill, she would also volunteer as a cook for their church camp. Her hobbies included crocheting, gardening, and quilting.

Eva Hoover passed away in Ludlow Falls, Ohio, on 15 May 2018, at the age of 110 years, 12 days.
