BIOGRAPHY

Ernestine Berry was born in Alabama, USA, on 28 February 1915, the eldest of 12 children. At some point, she relocated to California, where she worked as a bus driver, before permanently moving to New York, where she spent 50 years as a teacher’s assistant.

Berry had one son, and at the age of 108, she also had five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
