Émilie Leblay (née Boucard) was a French supercentenarian.
Émilie Leblay was born in the commune of Bruz in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in northwestern France, on 3 July 1907. She came from a humble background, as the daughter of bakers. She entered the workforce at a young age, first working as a chambermaid in a castle and later as a maid for a doctor. It was during this time that she met the man who would become her husband. Initially a roofer, he later established a company specializing in the sale of Angers slates. Together, they had two children, both of whom pursued careers in the medical field—Robert became a professor of medicine, while Annick became a nurse.
Emilie never smoked or drank alcohol, except for a daily glass of Porto and a glass of wine with cheese. However, upon reaching her centenarian years, she gave them up following her doctor’s advice.
Émilie Leblay passed away in Rennes, on 25 November 2017, at the age of 110 years, 145 days.
Her age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) on 29 October 2023. The validation is yet to be recognized by LongeviQuest.
