Emilie Kreckmann (née Kundmüller) was a German supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
Emilie Kreckmann was born in the district of Fürnbach in the municipality of Rauhenebrach, Bavaria, Germany, on 28 October 1912. According to her son, Jürgen Kreckmann, her secret to longevity seemed to be doing everything that doctors advised against. Growing up on a farm in Bavaria, she ate plenty of pork and later enjoyed cooking with animal fat. Trained as a housekeeper and cook, she managed a large kitchen in Werneck during World War II, where she met her future husband. They married in 1944, and together they had two sons.
On her 110th birthday, she was residing at the Senior Center “Winterberg” in Saarbrücken, where she had moved about six months earlier. She remained physically fit, though her hearing had significantly declined. Until two years prior, she had still tended to her vegetable garden. Saarbrücken’s mayor, Barbara Meyer, visited to congratulate her on her milestone birthday. At that time, her two sons were still living, along with three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Emilie Kreckmann passed away in Saarbrücken, Saarland, Germany, on 18 December 2023, at the age of 111 years, 51 days.
In October 2022, she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming the first (known) supercentenarian in the state of Saarland. To this day, she is the longevity record holder for the state of Saarland.
Her age was verified by Georg Fürholzer, and validated by LongeviQuest on 1 November 2024.
