Cooke was born in North Haven, Connecticut, USA, on 16 October 1864.
In 1886, she married William S. Cooke (1863–1922). The couple had a daughter, Margery Emily Ransom (1887–1994), who lived to be 106 years, 206 days old.
As of 1971, she was a resident of the Essex County Geriatrics Center.
