Elizabeth Mae Ramshaw (née Dickerhoof) is an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
Elizabeth Ramshaw was born on 23 March 1916 in Osage County, Kansas, USA, as the eighth of nine children born to John and Lula Belle (Thompson) Dickerhoof. She graduated from eighth grade at Farmersville Grade School, and worked for several years at the Lyndon Café with her sister, Helen Goldsmith. She then met George Ramshaw, and they were married on 8 March 1941. The couple had one child – a son, Ray (b. 1944), and lived most of their lives on the farm south of Michigan Valley.
For many years, in the 1940s through the 1960s, she raised a large flock of laying hens. Ramshaw would sell more than 1,000 eggs each week to a bakery in Ottawa. “That gave me grocery money,” she always said. Every summer, she would plant and harvest a large garden, where she would can many vegetables for her family. Her relatives used to say: “she was a good cook and was famous for her coconut cream pies.”
Elizabeth and George retired from the farm in 1992, and moved into Lyndon.
At some point, she moved to Osage City, Kansas, where she currently lives.
Following the passing of Dorothy Maxine Poppen (22 February 1916 – 12 August 2025), she became the oldest known living person in Kansas.
Her age was verified by Eli Logan, and validated by LongeviQuest on 23 March 2026.
