Elenor Sprecher was a German supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Elenor Sprecher was born in Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, on 8 October 1913. Her parents ran Pension Jäger, a guesthouse, and after finishing school, she joined the family business. In 1934, she met her future husband, Artur, and the couple went on to have two daughters. She was widowed in 1986.

On her 105th birthday, she was visited by the Mayor of Gernsbach, Julian Christ. Sometime during her centenarian years, she moved to Gernsbach to live with her daughter Gerda, where she was residing at the age of 110. The family continued to take holidays together, with their most recent trip before her 110th birthday being to Tyrol. At 110, she had three granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, and an 11-year-old great-great-granddaughter. Thursdays were dedicated to sports, with a physiotherapist visiting the house to help her stay mobile. Twice a week, she attended a day care facility, and she continued to exercise and play board games. When asked about the secret to her longevity at 110, she humorously replied, “Just don’t die.”

Elenor Sprecher passed away in Gernsbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, on 26 June 2024, at the age of 110 years, 262 days.
