Elena Barrientos Clerc was a Chilean supercentenarian.
Elena Barrientos Clerc was born in Punta Arenas, Magallanes Region, Chile, on 16 February 1912. Her mother, Léonide Clerc, left La Joux, Switzerland, and arrived in Chilean Patagonia in 1891 with her parents and seven siblings.
She had one daughter. At the age of 110, she had two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Her granddaughter, María Soledad García, explained that the secret to her longevity was her lifelong active lifestyle. She began working at a very young age and was always a remarkably healthy woman.
Elena Barrientos Clerc passed away in Punta Arenas, on 21 July 2022, at the age of 110 years, 155 days.
Her age was verified by Fabrizio Villatoro and Santiago García Medina, and listed as pending validation by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) organization on 9 May 2022.
