Edna Mae Parks (née Parrott; formerly Coulby) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
Edna Parks was born in Trappe, Maryland, USA, on 21 September 1914, to parents James Isaac Parrott (1885–1961) and Lena Sullivan (1886–1976). She had two sisters, Louise and Pauline Marvel (1910–1993); and two brothers, Philip L. and Davis S. Parrott. She graduated from Idlewild High School in Easton in 1932.
In the 1930s, she married Guy Parks and spent most of her life as a farm wife. The couple had three children: Roger Parks, Kenny Parks, and Eunice Roe. A dedicated homemaker, she also worked as a cashier for 17 years at St. Michaels High School. Additionally, she was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Easton. After her husband passed away on 19 November 1981, she remarried, this time to J. Norris Coulby. Her second husband passed away on 5 February 2010.
Parks lived independently until the age of 102, when she moved in with her son Roger and his wife for two years. In May 2019, at the age of 104, she moved into the senior living facility in Easton. By the age of 107, she had seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. At 109, she continued to crochet. At 110, she was still walking and using the exercise room. Her son and daughter-in-law noted that she never had major surgeries and avoided strenuous labor throughout her life. They believed that, along with her daily soda (Coke), this contributed to her lasting good health.
Parks passed away at the Dixon House in Easton, Maryland, on 18 January 2025, at the age of 110.
Her age was verified by Fabrizio Villatoro, and validated by LongeviQuest on 30 September 2024.
