Krahenbuhl was born in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, USA, on 9 August 1909, to parents James R. Niceley (1884–1959) and Leanna Elizabeth Stokes (1889–1984). She had five brothers and three sisters.
In 1925, she married Louis V. Bussell (1903–1959). The couple had three daughters: Juanita Hansel (1927–2010), Ada Doris Robbins (born 1930), and Pansy Mae Sargent (1932–2013). She was a homemaker. In 1965, she remarried to Otto Krahenbuhl (1903–1974). At the age of 108, she remained a devout Christian, praying every day.
Krahenbuhl passed away at the Rockcastle Health & Rehab Center in Brodhead, Kentucky, USA, on 24 July 2020, at the age of 110 years, 350 days. She was survived by her daughter Doris, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-great-grandchildren.
At the time of her passing, she was the second-oldest (known) living resident of the U.S. state of Kentucky, after Goldie Conn.
