Deolinda Nazaré d’Almeida was born in the parish of Santa Isabel, Lisbon, Lisbon District, Portugal on 20 February 1913.
At some point, she married Manuel Morais, and the couple settled in the capital. Her husband worked as a milliner. The couple had two children, a son, and a daughter. She worked as a seamstress until the 1970s and usually taught sewing classes. Her husband passed away in 1973.
In 2005, she moved into a nursing home.
Deolinda Nazaré d’Almeida passed away in Espinho, Aveiro District, Portugal, on 12 October 2023, at the age of 110 years, 234 days.
Mrs. Nazaré d’Almeida was first noted for her longevity when she was 101, in a magazine titled “Defesa de Espinho”. The Facebook page of her care home reported on her 108th, 109th, and 110th birthdays.
Her age was verified by Gabriel Lemos, and validated by the ESO on 6 May 2023.
At the time of death, she was the second-oldest known living person in Portugal, behind Maria da Conceição Brito.
