Consolación Paz Precedo was born in Cambre, Galicia, Spain, on 28 December 1913. She attended a school known as Doña Casilda, learned to sew, and spent many years working in the fields. She later opened a bar in A Rocha, naming it A Casa de Teresa in honor of one of her daughters.
When she first visited the Cambre medical center for an infection caused by a chicken bite, the staff checked her medical records and found that she didn’t have one because she had never been there before. At 100, she underwent cataract surgery.
During a discussion about the COVID-19 pandemic at the age of 106, she shared that she was not afraid of death, but she was worried about the well-being of her younger family members. At that time, she lived with her daughter, Carmiña. She missed attending Mass and being out in public.
As of her 105th birthday, she was remarkably independent, with sharp mental clarity and the ability to walk unassisted. She enjoyed a wide variety of foods, especially sweets like chocolate and cakes, and occasionally savored a glass of wine or a gentle sip of gin and tonic. Her home included a vegetable garden, which she continued to tend herself. At 106, she was still actively watching television to stay informed on the news and enjoy various game shows. By then, she was had four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She celebrated her 110th birthday surrounded by family in Cambre. The mayor, Óscar García Patiño, congratulated her and visited alongside Ramón Boga, the councillor for Tourism and Heritage. Both presented her with a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates.
According to her, one of the secrets to her longevity is that she has worked all her life.
Her age has not been validated.
