BIOGRAPHY

Concepción Caselles Serra was born in El Bruc, Catalonia, Spain, on 18 November 1909. As a young woman, she worked in Igualada producing fabrics. Later, she opened a shop on Carrer Major, where she sold sodas. It was one of the area’s first local businesses. She had at least one son, Josep.

Concepción Caselles Serra passed away in Vilanova del Camí, Catalonia, Spain, on 16 October 2021, at the age of 111 years, 332 days.

RECOGNITION

At the time of her passing, she was the last known Spanish-born woman born before 1910. She was also the third-oldest living person in Spain, following Maria Branyas Morera and Saturnino de la Fuente García.

Her age has not been validated.
