Clementina Saldarriaga Correa was born in Medellín, Antioquia Department, Colombia, on 11 August 1902. Her parents were José Vidal Saldarriaga Posada (1868–1944) and Inés Correa Restrepo (1873–1948). She was one of thirteen children—eight girls and five boys. She and her sisters attended La Presentación School. On 15 August 1910, she received her First Communion.
In the 1940s, she went to live with Laura, one of her unmarried sisters. From 1944 until 11 March 1984—the day Laura passed away—the two sisters lived together in a large house. They often visited the park, attended Mass, or stopped by one of their brothers’ stores.
After Laura’s death, the house became too large for her to manage alone. Her sister Isabel invited her to move in with her and her family. She remained very active, spending her time sewing rugs, making quilts, and crocheting gifts for family and friends. Following Isabel’s death in 2010, she continued living with her nieces in an apartment in El Poblado, Medellín.
Clementina Saldarriaga Correa passed away in Medellín, on 15 October 2012, at the age of 110 years, 65 days.
