Jordan was born as Charlotte Keelin in the St. Elmo region of Chattanooga, Tennessee, on 15 March 1909. She was married to her husband, James Jordan, for over six decades; the couple had one daughter, Norma.
A teacher by profession, Jordan worked at three different schools over a timespan of 45 years. She was known for her patience and expertise. She had enrolled at St. Elmo Elementary, Howard High School in 1928, and was the oldest living graduate from that school. She later achieved a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University.
Jordan was a Sunday school teacher and served on the Missionary society. At the time of her 110th birthday, she had, in addition to her daughter, two grandsons and two infant great-grandchildren. In her later years, she moved to College Park, Georgia, to be closer to her daughter.
Jordan died in College Park, Georgia, on 5 August 2019 at the age of 110 years, 143 days.
