Catherine Trompeter (née Weiss) was a French supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in the present-day Grand Est region of France. Her age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) and recognised by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Trompeter was born as Catherine Weiss in Bas-Rhin, Grand Est, France, on 26 March 1895. At the time of her birth, the then-region of Alsace, where she was born, was part of the German Empire.

Trompeter died in Moselle, Grand Est, France, on 18 November 2006 at the age of 111 years, 237 days.

RECOGNITION

At the time of her death, Trompeter was the oldest resident of the (since 2016) region of Grand Est. It is currently uncertain, as of 2024, who preceded and succeeded her.

Trompeter’s age was verified by Laurent Toussaint and validated by the GRG on 8 July 2005.
