Carolyn Elizabeth Reid (née Lear) was an American supercentenarian who was among the oldest living people in the state of Kansas. Her age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Reid was born as Carolyn Elizabeth Lear on a farm near Stafford, Kansas, on 17 November 1892 as the daughter of E. B. and Hattie Lear.

In 1912, Reid graduated from Stafford High School, and would go on to teach at grade school before attending Kansas State College, graduating in 1920 with a B. S. in home economics. On 15 June 1922, she married Theodore “Tad” Reid, with whom she had two children: Tad Jr. and Elsa.

A lifelong member of the Methodist Church, Reid died on 11 December 2002 at the age of 110 years, 24 days. She was survived by her daughter Elsa, as well as five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
