Carolina Capello was an Italian supercentenarian who was the second-oldest living person in the region of Piedmont. Her age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) and recognised by LongeviQuest.
Capello was born in Cossano Belbo, Piedmont, Italy, on 12 June 1895; she moved to Santo Stefano Belbo in her youth. She married and had a son, who emigrated to Uruguay and died around 1992.
In around 1990, Capello moved into a retirement home in Santo Stefano Belbo, Piedmont. As a supercentenarian, she enjoyed reading the newspaper, watching television, and reciting the rosary daily.
Capello died on 16 September 2005 at the age of 110 years, 96 days.
Capello’s age was verified by Giovanni Alunni and validated by the GRG on 13 June 2005.
At the time of her death, Capello was Piedmont’s second-oldest known resident after Lorenza Dotta (1894 – 2007).
