Carmela Mileo (also known as Vincenzina Mileo) was an Italian supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation.

BIOGRAPHY

Vincenza Mileo was born in Cropalati, Calabria, Italy, on 27 November 1899 to parents Domenico Mileo and Maria Le Pera. She was the fourth of nine children, only one of whom was a brother. She farmed, harvesting olives.

She married Antonio Forciniti in 1941, a widower with six children. Mileo lovingly raised the children as if they were her own. She had a son of her own, Mario, who died at the age 2. Mileo attended church until her late 90s and she would still visit her son’s grave to the age of 103.

At the age of 105, Mileo became wheelchair-bound due to a broken femur.

She passed away on 18 February 2011 in Cropalati, Calabria, Italy, at the age of 111.

RECOGNITION

Her age was verified by Paolo Scarabaggio and validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation, and later recognized by LongeviQuest on 19 November 2025.
