Calogera Nicolosi was an Italian supercentenarian.
Calogera Nicolosi was born in Caltabellotta, Sicily, Italy, on 4 December 1903. Her parents were Pellegrino Nicolosi and Calogera Tornambè. She was one of eight children—two sons and six daughters—most of whom emigrated to the United States, with the exception of herself and one brother. Her brother, Giuseppe (Joseph) Nicolosi (1893–1961), became a renowned sculptor in the United States and created, among other works, the Monument to the Fallen of World War I. Her five sisters were: Filippa, Paola, Caterina, Maria, and Pellegrina.
She married twice: first in 1922 to Pellegrino Colletti, with whom she had four children (only Pellegrina survived her), and later in 1963 to Paolo Vacante, originally from Calamonaci. Her first son died at the age of three, and her first husband passed away young, leaving her a widow with three daughters.
In her later years, she lived with her eldest daughter, Paola, until her passing.
Calogera Nicolosi passed away in Caltabellotta, Sicily, on 4 June 2014, at the age of 110 years, 182 days.
Her age has not been validated.
